Terms of service

The rules for using DropSlop.

By using DropSlop, the website, the API or the MCP server, you agree to these terms. If you use it for a company, you agree for that company.

The short version

Your account

You sign in with a link sent to your email, so keep that inbox secure. One account is for one person. You're responsible for what happens under your account and its API keys. Tell us at [email protected] if you think someone else has access.

Fair use

Don't use DropSlop to:

Site audits read pages that are public on the web. Audit only sites you own or are allowed to review, and respect a site's request not to be crawled.

Your content

You keep every right in the text you bring and in what DropSlop gives back. You let us store and process it only to provide the service, as the privacy policy describes. We don't use it to train our models.

Site audit reports and certificates can be opened by anyone with their link. Don't certify or audit anything you need to keep private.

What scores mean

DropSlop's scores are estimates of how much a text reads as machine-written. Every AI detector, ours included, is sometimes wrong in both directions. That's most likely with short texts, heavily edited texts, writing by non-native speakers, and kinds of writing it has seen less of.

Treat a score as one piece of evidence. Don't use it alone to decide anything about a person, including grades, discipline, hiring or payment. Humanize makes text read more like a person wrote it, but we don't promise that any detector will score the result a certain way. Fact-Guard checks names, dates and figures, but you're responsible for checking the final text before you use it.

Plans and payment

API and MCP

Keep your keys secret, and don't build them into anything other people can see. Calls count against your plan's allowance and rate limit. We may change or retire API features. For changes that break existing calls, we'll give notice on the developers page first, except where security requires faster action.

Connected apps

When you connect Google Docs, Notion, HubSpot, WordPress, Ghost, Webflow or Shopify, that service's own terms also apply. DropSlop sends drafts back as drafts and never publishes for you. You can disconnect at any time on the Connections page.

Ending

You can stop using DropSlop and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or put the service or other people at risk. Unless the matter is serious or urgent, we'll tell you first and give you a chance to fix it.

Warranties and liability

DropSlop is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we make no promises about accuracy, availability or fitness for a particular purpose. Our total liability for any claim about the service is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $50 if you paid nothing. We aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, lost data or decisions made using scores. Nothing here limits rights that the law says can't be limited.

Changes

We may update these terms. For changes that matter, we'll email account holders at least 30 days before they take effect. If you keep using DropSlop after that, the new terms apply. Questions: [email protected].
